Isn’t it a shame that we so quickly and so easily forget the admonitions of the Lord that are presented to us every week? So much is given to us every time we go to church and every time we open our Bible to read at home. Yet, we still don’t seem to be able to remain consistent and faithful. Even in the little things…we stumble.
Because of our human frailness, we can understand better the words of warning and instruction found in Proverbs 7:1-3 “My son keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.”
We need to make ourselves do this. These are not idle warnings and encouragements for us. If we really want God’s blessings and to enjoy a life of peace and joy, then we must do what needs to be done so we don’t forget the commandments of the Lord. Take them to heart. If we forget too easily, then write them down, memorize Truth. Tie it about your neck, clip scripture to your mirror.
Do whatever needs to be done to insure that you remember the words of life.
