Recently, I was talking with a young lady who works at a local business in our city. She was relating to me how there are certain of their customers who come in to their establishment and very contentiously begin to make comments of distain toward the “Baptist girl” who is working there. Without knowing a thing about “the Baptist girl”, she maligns and distains her. This distain is directed at “the Baptist girl’s” entire church family, of which most of the people in that church would not even know this person who despises them so much.

What is happening here? First you must know “the Baptist girl”. There is not a sweeter, more gracious testimony of the wonder working power of God in a changed life, than in “the Baptist girl”. She is sweetness personified.

So what’s the problem? It’s her Spirit…her testimony! It’s Who she represents that is rubbing someone wrong because “someone” is in rebellion against God.

John 15:23-25 “He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.”

Don’t be alarmed if they hate you too! You can’t be the salt of the earth without smarting someone along the way.

Love the lost anyway.
