Think of the great Christians that you may know and others that you have read about, whose lives were greatly used of God.  They all have a few things in common.   Each realized that if God's will was to be done through their lives, then self-will had to die first.  They had to be willing to turn their back on the things of this world that could entrap them and draw their heart away.

These great Christians were willing to give themselves wholly to this kind of "all or nothing", discipleship.

Are we?  This kind of discipleship is costly and very few 21st century Christians are willing to give themselves…body and soul, over to the control of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Maybe that is why our children run to the world to find pleasure.  Maybe that is why our posterity is lost and Christianity of today has so little effect on the world around us.

We must first let God work in us…if we want Him to work through us.

I John 2:17 "And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

Lord, help us to do Your will and to make a difference… for Your sake!
